Sharon Nelson, LCSW

Sharon works with children, teens, adults to help individuals and families overcome the challenges of depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and traumatic events. For over 30 years Sharon has helped people from all walks of life discover what is possible in their lives. She treats her clients with an exceptionally level of compassion, respect, and understanding.
She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota and clinical certification in EMDR, a specialized treatment for trauma relief. Her clients, many of them active in the Northwest Arkansas retail vendor community, appreciate her candor and discretion.
Sharon and husband Gary have two adult children and three grandchildren. Her personal hobbies include oil painting, tennis, and spending time with family.

Gary Nelson, BS, CCDP
Substance Abuse Program Director
“I love to help people find strength, hope, and serenity in their recovery from addiction and all the issues that follow along with it.”
Gary’s experience and training guides clients in the development of a solid foundation for successful personal recovery from substance abuse and mental health disorders. He is a Certified Co-occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) through the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board. Gary has worked in the mental health and human services field since 1974. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from St Cloud State University in Minnesota. Experiences in working with chronic and acute mental illness, eating disorders, addictions, and therapeutic lifestyle changes have helped him develop a well rounded approach.
Gary’s personal interests include golf, Razorback football, and playing with his grandkids.

Carol Fowler, LCSW

Carol establishes rapport with clients to communicate a level of genuine concern necessary for a successful therapeutic collaboration. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her experience and expertise in the field of relationships allows her to provide her clients with the insight and support to move a relationship in a positive direction.
Her professional qualifications include a certificate in Brennan Healing Science, a certificate in Clinical Hypnosis, and a certificate in EMDR.
Carol’s personal interests include energy healing, spirituality, and yoga.

Matthew Long
MA,
Addiction Counselor
“If there weren’t people out there willing to help when others are down, I wouldn’t be alive today.”
Matthew, a lifelong Arkansan, holds a Bachelor of Science from John Brown University and is a graduate of The Hazelden School with a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling. Using a bi-modal approach of Rogerian Person Centered and Gestalt Therapy techniques Matthew allows clients to be the driving force behind their treatment and recovery. Through past personal and professional experience with addiction Matthew enjoys building therapeutic alliance with individuals that encourages comfort and ease while discussing recovery and all aspects of life affected by addiction.
Matt’s personal interests include cooking, spending time with family, and anything Razorbacks.

Tom’s professional experience includes work with children, teens, and young adults, and adults. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John’s University and is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Arkansas. Tom develops personal connections with his clients through his love of music, culture, and life. Clients appreciate Tom’s easy-going manner, non-judgmental attitude, and tenacity. He never gives up on his clients, even if they have given up on themselves.
